I received an e-mail from Road Angel offering upgraded Tele Atlas mapping for the in-car satnav bit of my RA 7000. The screenshot in the e-mail looked nice, so I stumped up my £50 and the new SD card arrived on Saturday.
First of all, it came with a new version of MM loaded - 5.1.21 - I couldn't see any difference, so suspect it's probably another licensing upgrade or similar (?)
Main point though, is that the new version of Tele Atlas is much better - the maps are better drawn and clearer, and the satnav interface, whilst not quite as intuitive, is much improved.
If you're buying a new unit, try and ensure it's got the new version of the software. If your existing unit is running the old version, and you use the satnav at all, I'd suggest £50 for the new version is a worthwhile investment (I was on the point of buying a new, better satnav for the car)

Have they added the ability to enter a waypoint via the on screen keyboard? - this has always been missing and is a major let down (for me), the only way to enter a waypoint was by hand pointing at the screen - Mike

I presume you're talking about in the Memory Map software - 'fraid not, I can't see any substantial change in the new version.
BUT, I'll say again - the Tele Atlas satnav software is MUCH better - not the best out there, but a vast improvement on what came with the unit.
