I have a cunning plan. It involves using a waterproof divers' bag attached to the two sportscreen's struts. Once I have my Accumate Cigar Socket attachment, which will connect to my Optimate III's permanent lead from the bike's battery, I shall call in at my local Diving Outfitters Store and see how well my Tomtom One XL fits inside the bag. Will the lead from the Tomtom emerge safely to be attached to the 12v power socket? Will the Heath-Robinson of northern englishland be proved right in his endeavours?

Anyway, has anyone managed to fit a secure clamp, socket, base onto which you have been able to fit your Tomtom One XL ???

I know this is a shot in the dark. But if I don't ask I don't find out.

Scooters do not have exposed handlebars, like motorbikes do. They are sheathed in plastic bodywork. I am loathe to attach anything to the scooter's windscreen. It would involve drilling, which would certainly compromise the stability and integrity of the screen.

The TT1XL was bought for use in the car. A Tomtom Rider might be the answer, but I'd never get the proposal past the chancellor!!

Therefore, I have to devise a way to ffit the One XL on the bike, safely. 'Total Waterproofing' will be done by the Diver's Bag. It is the fitting which is exercising my mind most.

Who else rides a scooter in this motley crewed forum?

We did something late last year which involved fitting a TomTom to a scooter without drilling holes in the bike etc. Have a read Here - It might give you a few ideas - Mike
