Hi,

Try a visit to http://www.ipaqrepair.co.uk/ipaq_faq.php

This sounds very much like the following (copied from their faq)

The speaker on my iPAQ has stopped working can this be repaired?

If you have not given the speaker an unexpected drink this repair is straight forward and involves replacing the iPAQ headphone jack. What normally causes the speaker to stop working is a switch inside the headphone jack that turns the speaker off when headphones are inserted becomes damaged or faulty causing the iPAQ speaker to stop working.

Hope this helps,
