|
|
Hello People,
I go-to http://maps.google.com/ i then click on "Get Directions" I type in postcodes from and to etc i then click on the "Send" link and all i get is send to email and nothing else.
I am very sure i have done everything correct but when clicking on "Send" link all i get is one option and that is to send to an email address.
I followed instructions from TomTom website but no luck at all.
Am i doing something wrong?
Thank you,

I was playing with it the other day, (Oh errr misses), and it worked, but today, the "Send to GPS" option is missing, as you say, the only option is e-mail, perhaps Google have a problem? _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

You have to choose "Find Business" under the main search box. Then "GPS" appears when you select Send To. Hope this helps!

I thought I read in these forums that the option to send to gps was only there is you searched for a business, not an address or postcode.
Edit: Beat me to it! _________________ Anita

Thanks it did help but what is the point in it?
What i mean is from what i can tell it is only going to benefit anyone if you are looking for a company to what i can understand from it.

I supose, If you wanted to go to Joe Bloggs's house, you would put in 123 High street, Bristol, or his postcode, and TomTom would take you there. If you wanted to take the kids to Bristol Zoo, or the wife to The Bull Ring in Birmingham, you would need these places address, or postcode, so you would need to look them up in yellow pages, or their web site, etc. With the Google site, you put in Bristol Zoo, or Bull Ring, it gives you the address, post code, phone number etc, and the option to download it to TomTom, pritty usefull I would think. Not sure If some of these places would be on TomTom already as a TomTom POi, but I'm sure a lot of them won't be. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

Google maps seems very "commercially orientated" (a.k.a "advertising revenue"!)
Look at all those push pins for irrelevant local businesses you get when you enter a location.
I suspect its all to do with keeping sponsors happy first; maybe it will expand to "normal" searches later. |
