I have just downloaded the latest software to my tomtom one 2nd edition and all is well except when I turn it off my own suspend picture (a cute chick) has gone and I get the anti theft pic...that pic is still named suspend1 and the chick is still named suspend but there is another antitheft pic on the device now and I do not know if it was there before..should I delete it??? How do I get my chick back?? thanks.

Rename your "Chick pic" to "antitheft.bmp" on the device and you should be back up and running - Mike |

Or I think (but haven't checked this) you can switch off the "warn not to leave the device in the car" setting in Change preferences/Safety preferences, and it will then go back to using the normal suspend picture. |

I've got a very similar problem with my TT1 v1. The suspend screen has disappeared, I now get the splash screen when I switch on and switch off.
Both screens are named and configured correctly. Any ideas please? _________________ Regards

Maybe the facility for a "suspend" picture has gone?
If so, you'll have to do as Mike says, rename your pic as antitheft("w" for the widescreen models) and switch on the 'remind me to remove my device" setting in safety preferences. |

My TomTom did the same thing after an update to 7.16. All I did was connect the TomTom to the PC, and re name the antithethft.bmp to antitheft1, and the TomTom then ignors the antitheft picture and continues to use the cute chick, although, why you would want a picture of a chicken on your sat nav, I don't know.
Just tried what you said Andy, and that works too. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

That's odd Richard. According to the Navcore 7 features chart (http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/navcore7_breakdown_20071121.php)
All models should have the "safety preferences" menu. Does yours? And if so, does it have the "Remind me to take it with me" option? |

yes it was just a case of disabling the anti theft option....for gawds sake does anyone really thing this option is of any value???you are either the type who takes the unit with them or you don't give a hoot this little tweak is useless In my honest opinion any way the cute chick with the boobies is back and she is looking swell...now would I leave her behind??? |

Many of the new features look to me like they were the results of a 'focus group' meeting where people had just come up with a few "wouldn't it be nice if..." ideas. |

I'd forgotten about that, I leave it unticked.

I don't think I've got the facility to do that (remind me to remove my device).
Certainly haven't seen it anyway, unless its a brand new option. _________________ Regards

TT's chart says all models should have the "safety preferences" menu.
If you Tap screen / Change preferences, Safety preferences is on the first screen, top right.
Tapping that gives me this page (first of several)
Don't you get that? |

No I dont. Maybe it's because I'm still on v6.150.
I did upgrade but the whole system locked up, and no matter what I did I couldn't clear the fault. I changed the SD card to one with a working system on. Thats why I'm surprised that suspend no longer works. _________________ Regards
