Goodmans GNAV10 "Gb SD card problem

Being a newbie, I have tried to load a number of maps onto a new SD card (2Gb) in my Goodmans GNAV10 via the Destinator Console and when this failed, via Active Sync.
The problem is that as soon as you get over 1Gb, maps and other countries won't load any further: Error message is: "the drive cannot find the sector requested".
