Can't answer that, we had a 520 so have not seen the European mapping, a retail 720 should be with me tomorrow. _________________ Darren Griffin |

We have no information that a 920 is in the pipeline, we have asked! _________________ Darren Griffin |

I can't detect any difference in quality, however the 520 we had only had a few TTS enabled languages which may explain the reduction in file sizes, even the 720 won't have US mapping unlike the 910 so that will have an impact on file sizes too.

It's not integrated and FM TMC will not be a UK option. _________________ Darren Griffin |

You only need to set this once for each country you visit.

Faster? Not really, easier when driving, of course! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Our French cousins have a review up already, it's in French of course but plenty of images and a video to gander at! See here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I don't have any devices that use PAN with which to check but will ask TomTom. _________________ Darren Griffin |

A quick screenshot to demonstrate the building layout representation which is new to the latest TeleAtlas mapping.

Quick question. Have they fixed the auto zoom problem, where the unit wants to keep the zoom at about a 120metre scale? On the motorway I'd really like to be able to see more than a few hundred metres around the vehicle... In previous versions if you zoom out, it just zooms straight back in again... If they fix that, it'd be damn near perfect.
TIA
Hamish. |

Looks good RDS-TMC must be working as the information is updating top right without a mobile phone coonected bottom left?
When are you going to get the Discovery image sorted though - mountain bike and canoe are missing - Mike |

, it was polling just as I switched the phone off hence the phone disconnected icon!

No it is the same but I confess it has never been an issue for me. _________________ Darren Griffin |

No. In the UK the only TMC option will be to subscribe to TRAFFIC and use a compatible Bluetooth connected mobile to poll for updates. On the Continent there will be a 720T that comes with a bundled TMC Antenna. The TMC antenna will still be an option for basic devices. |
Is this an indication that they haven't improved the TMC functionallity in performance is still questionable? |

I think the inference is pretty clear, if they're not offering a TMC FM Antenna either bundled or as an option for the UK market then they clearly don't think it's good enough. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Darren on TomTom website they quote the 720 as having a 5 hour battery life-i really need this sort of battery life:)as most of the trucks i drive have dodgy 12/24v sockets so i rely on the battery....i have preordered one but can you confirm its close to 5 hours? Cheers

The most I've tried it for is a shade short of 4 hrs, I'll test tomorrow from full charge until flat and report back. _________________ Darren Griffin |
