|

Hi
I have been trying to update my Nuvi 360 to V9 maps.
I originally did it wrong by selecting the maps in mapsource, this of course didnt work as there wasnt enough room, but after selecting a smaller area it did work kind of.
But I then didnt have enough memory for the unit to work.
So now I am trying to do it properly, I first copied the files in the Garmin folder, then deleted the extra files created from my previous attempt.
Started the update, unlocked the maps and away it went. Came back to it a few hours later and had the message map update has failed.
Any ideas, can anybody tell me what files they have in the Garmin folder
Thanks

You may find it's actually worked anyway - I think I had that error, but the upgrade had actually worked.
However, the v9 map files in the Garmin directory are:
gmapbmap.img - the world basemap (not changed by v9)
gmapprom.img - the main v9 map, size varies between 310/360 models
gmapprom.sum - checksum for the map, date should be when upgrade happened
gmapprom.unl - unlock file for new map - this will only be there for upgraded maps - the originally installed maps do not need a .unl file
What have you got? _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums. |

Thanks for that, just checked mine and thats what I have got.
I was just concerned I had deleted the wrong files.
Yep you were right, tried it this morning on the way to work and it had worked.
Thanks
