|
|
Hi all,
Does anyone know if I can add to the Points of Interest in Destinator 6, and if so, how? Or do I have to import new POI as Favorites?
Thanks, _________________ Destinator 6

Have a look at This Topic. It should be what you want.
As the cameras are a POI the same will apply to any POI Category. _________________ Richard

Thanks, but I already know how to add to the Favorites. If I add new or updates POIs to the favorites, then I will be warned of them as I approach. You can't set individual warnings, only global warnings that apply to all favorites. I already have the speed camera database loaded into D6.
My company has a deal with Premier Travel Inn and as such, we have to use them while away on business. As I travel hundreds of miles at a time, I don't really want to be told every time I approach a Travel Inn.
My guess is that you can't actually modify the POI category on D6. _________________ Destinator 6

Yes, you have two categories here. POI are as supplied and fixed in Destinator, or they are without a lot of work reverse engineering the file formats used. 'Favorites' (sic) are user added and are what is used for speed cameras. In some ways Destinator 6 is a backward step in that it has one voice setting for all the favorites you select, where v3 was fiddly to set up but there were two different voice settings.
The easiest way I have found of using other favorites is to leave the speed cameras selected all the time and only select others when actively looking for them
POI do have the useful attibute of appearing in distance order, which could be useful in your case. Favorites always appear in the same order. It is possible to calculate distances to and sort favorites before loading if that's exactly what you need. _________________ Acer n35, Destinator 3.0.75, Destinator 6 |

Thanks for the advice. Seems that this is another instance of D6 not quite doing what I would like it to do.
I hope the people at Destinator are taking note. _________________ Destinator 6
