[ADMIN]Post deleted, see link in post below for an explanation. I am not suggesting that you have a commercial link with the company in question but we have deleted all posts mentioning this company as a result of their underhand actions.
We have no issue with the discussion of competing software when it is by users but disguised posts by users with commercial interests in a competing product will not be tolerated.
I hope you understand.[/ADMIN] _________________ "To Err Is Human - To Really Foul Things Up Requires A Computer! (or SatNav)" |

It's worth mentioning that I think this requires a plug-in to operate. I am guessing therefore that the plug-in must rely on TomToms SDK which has recently been withdrawn. Therefore it will cease to function from v7 of Navigator onwards. _________________ Darren Griffin |

TBH, I was thinking of trying the Talex TT database just for my interest, but I shall not bother now if they are going to go down the path of subliminal advertising on this board. This underhand tactic makes me nervous!! _________________ "To Err Is Human - To Really Foul Things Up Requires A Computer! (or SatNav)" |

Apologies to all for transgressing the forum rules. I picked up some traffic (50 hits) to my web site following BBQKing's original post and posted back to ensure that this product was properly understood. Clearly I didn't give due consideration to the terms of posting before I went ahead and did so.
Also a point of clarification; I'm from a Talex reseller, not from Talex, so my "subliminal advertising" should not reflect upon them. |

Thanks for your honesty, I don't see any need to discuss this further, you are more than welcome to discuss subjects here so long as the posts are not solely for the purpose of generating traffic to your website etc. The forum rules can be found here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Darren, the SDK still seems to feature on the Tomtom website, as part of their Tomtom Pro and Tomtom work initiatives. As of today it can still be ordered.
Where have you heard that it will be withdrawn? |

TomTom have officially confirmed that support for and future releases of the SDK will cease with the release of v7, see the discussion in this thread.
Naturally this caused a huge outcry but the fact remains. Any apps authoured using the SDK will not function on v7 devices which are due soon as are v7 upgrades for existing hardware. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I recently asked Talex if the database was compatible with the TT 720 and was told that it is. I don't know if they've actually tested it but I'd hope so if they are giving out that advice |
