I have just bought a 710 (perhaps silly, since they are being discontinued). It came with Tom Tom Camera POIs pre installed. I stuck on the PGPSW ones which are better, but it appears I cannot disable the Tom Tom ones. Any ideas ?
Oh and it has map version 660.1219 is this the latest or have I been had ? _________________ Tommo...

You can uninstall the TomTom Cameras via the HOME application. v675 is the latest available map version. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Cheers for the super quick response. I must apologise for being one of these fools who obviously can't work the search feature. I bet you rolled your eyes when you read my post.
It was an easy answer. Don't why I didn't think of it myself. Perhaps because I'm a thick copper !!
Thanks again. _________________ Tommo...

999tommo wrote: | I have just bought a 710 | Sorry to be late in on this - I was tying up the tomato and cucumber plants in the greenhouse. Best advice will be to get another SD Card, (get 2GB whilst you're at it) and copy the original to it and keep the original in a strongbox. Windows explorer would get rid of TT cameras - just delete the funny OV2 files in the Western Europe folder (Autovelox_IT_50_TomTom.ov2, etc - there are at least 57 of them, with matching .bmp and .ver files) BUT don't do it until after you've got backups. If/when you get the newer map v675 (which you should demand from TT for free **** because your map is ancient [November 2006] and v675 was issued 17th April 2007), it would actually fit on the same 2GB SD card (v660 and v675 are both around 900 - 944 Mb) - you may have to temporarily delete v660 whilst you install v675, but could then copy it back again after it has stopped needing the extra space for installation process.
**** NOTE Western Europe v675 is NOT as comprehensive as v660. You might prefer to persuade TT to let you have Western and Central Europe (size 1.7GB) for a discounted price of about £6, which is the difference in price if you bought both of them. This will NOT fit on the SD card with the previous map. _________________ Dennis

In that case, how about this for an offer. I'll swap my Mio P350 with TTN5 for your 710 to help you out if you want. :D
Good deal eh? :P
PS I couldn't have been first to answer this post because I never knew the answer. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

I may be thick, but even I know that's not a good deal. I will give you £200 and my 710. How's that ? _________________ Tommo...

In what way is it not as comprehensive ? Enough to merit not changing ?
P.S. Does the 'N' in your name stand for Norden ? If so, when will "It'll be alright on the night 20" be on ??
P.P.S. I've heard all sorts of excuses for not repsonding to posts, but tying up your cucumber and tomatoes ?? Whatever you do in the privacy of your own home is your business. _________________ Tommo...

Woodland, rivers, etc. | Didn't they also leave off the odd country or two, e.g. Czech Republic? Or Poland or something? Or am I having a Senior memory moment (forgive me - I've driven 450 miles through Wales today).
Significantly on the 675 map, the one "published" for the 710 is Western Europe, but also available is the slightly dearer Western and Central Europe which I mentioned above, which does have more countries. I am still slowly grinding away at Tom Tom to give me a credit for the Western Europe one so that I can get the Western and Central Europe one instead.
In any event, do persuade TT to at least let you have the v675 Western Europe map for free. I know the London Congestion Charge doesn't yet extend to Scotland, but you could come down and give it a try to see if you'd like one up there. _________________ Dennis
