Help appreciated!

Decided to load the speed camera software onto my 2210. Downloaded the camera database and Checkpoint 2.0.2 (I gather 3.2 causes problems).
Unzipped both files and connected my 2210 via the cradle and got the following error message....

"Cannot convert file 'PocketGps_uk_sc.'
This Microsoft Excel file was created in a version of Microsoft Excel that is not supported by the suggested converter. The Pocket Excel converter can only convert Microsoft Excel 5.0/95/97/2000 files".

Did it again just to make sure I was following the instructions correctly and got exactly same result.

Can anyone help out there? Crying or Very sad

Hi Tom,

You don’t need the MS Excel file. In fact, you should only need to copy the .OV2 and the .BMP files to the same directory as your TTNav map data.

As for all POIs, it’s best that TTNav is shut down before you load the POI. Once the POI is loaded you should start TTNav and select the POI in TTNav and CheckPOInt. Thumbs Up

Privateer has answered the question, we include the .csv file int eh downlaod .zip for users of other systems. This is a file containing the safety camera locations in a format more easily converted to alternative formats.

For CheckPOInt you need only the .ov2 (the data) and .bmp (the Icon Bitmap). Your post has highlighted this issue though and we will make it clearer for new users in future Thumbs Up

Still having problems!

I have loaded both the .ov2 and .bmp files to my SD card where my maps are and have the checkPOInt file in "My documents" - I understand the first thing to do is run checkPOInt - but how? I understand there will be an icon on the bottom of the Today screen and I need to tap that in order to get at the settings but there is no icon and I have tried tapping on checkPOInt in My documentsbut I get the error message saying "There is no application associated with CheckPOInt-PPC2002_20.2. Run the application first, then open this file from within the application"

I tried copying it to the SD card but get exactly the same message!

Did you copy the CheckPOInt installer to your PocketPC? You should not, you run the installer file on your PC with the PocketPC docked and CheckPOInt is automatically installed to your PocketPC.

Have just taken my CheckPOInt out for trial run to a road where I know there is definitely a camera. As I passed the camera it was clearly displayed on the road on the TTN nav screen but no warning sounds. Crying or Very sad

I have just double-checked what I did against the set-up instructions and I clicked on pocketgps_uk_sc.ov2 in Overlay settings page clicked Properties and then checked the Detect POI's from this overlay and 25 degress for detection angle, ticked box for Give a first warning, and put in 30 sec before the POI.
In the next box "Sound to play as first warning" it is blank so when I click on the little box with ... I get a new page with select file etc.
I now gather than the reason there was no verbal warnings is because there is no sound file? If so where do I get it from/install it? I wrongly assumed it was already in the program - or maybe it is and I have not set it up right?
Sorry to be a pain asking all these dumb questions! Just call me Mr Thickie! 8O

No problem, there are no sounds supplied in CheckPOInt, it's down to the user to configure his own. To get you started here is a .zip file containing the two that I use for 1st and 2nd warnings. http://www.griffinnet.co.uk/files/ppgps/checkpoint_sounds.zip Thumbs Up
