But as we’re losing ad-revenue from this then why not make a donation towards website running costs?. Or you could disable your ad-blocker for this site. We think you’ll find our adverts are not overbearing!

Hi All,
I have recently got myself an Ipaq and Tomtom, and have loaded on version 3.2 of CheckPOInt, however, I am some confusion in regards to which database to use.
With the pocket GPS database, there is a couple of cameras not listed on the databases I downloaded from the CheckPOInt website.
Currently, I have about 15 databases, divided up into camera type and speed, provided by CheckPOInt.
Are these sufficient to use by themself? Do I need to run both the Pocket GPS database AND the CheckPOInt databases? If I do this will I get dual alarms/double notifications?
Can someone elaborate on which databases to use please?

There is no simple answer, if you use both then you will inevitably get duplicate notifications.
We started our database from scratch and believe it to be more accurate as it benefits from 'human' input and cross-checks, others are fully automated and so more error prone.
At the end of the day it is up to you but if you do find new cameras not listed in our database just let us know and we'll add them _________________ Darren Griffin

Oh OK. Thanks for replying, I'll try with both for a bit, see where the errors lie/if I can live without being notified of the particular type of camera and make my decision then.
