|
|
I just recently purchased the Globalsat 308 and the software called Routis 2004. I am using them with an ipaq 4155. I do manage to get them to work together but whenever I turn them off and come back the next time to use them, I must perform a software reset to get the bluetooth to talk between them. This is very annoying. Whenever, I see the problem, the bluetooth manager comes up within Routis showing the bluetooth GPS device, I select it but nothing happens and the blue lights do not flash faster. Moments later, the bluetooth manager pops back up showing the device again and this repeats over and over. The only thing I have found is to do a software reset every session.
Any help is apprecated. |

Check the thread in the TomTom forum regarding the BT Manager and then do the same stuff on your device. Should help to reconnect after a wake-up. _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the info. I did manage to get it working solid now. Here's what I did.
Under bluetooth accessibility settings I have the following switches active:
1. allow other devices to connect (all devices)
2. Other devices can discover me
Under Bluetooth serial port, I only have enable service checked (removed authorization required that was there by default).
I am not exactly sure which of these did the trick. But it is rock solid now.
Every time I turn both devices on I get a connection now.
This is really a great GPS and I am very pleased with the Routis software. It could use a few more POI categories as well as updated navtech maps once the new ones come out. The next release of Routis will hopefully be even better. I am very happy with my setup now. |

I did get a response back from the maker's of Routis. They told
me that the problem is such that you have to exit out of their
software before you turn off the GPS. Exit by doing File-> exit.
If you do not do this and turn off the GPS first you will get
the problem. |
