|
|
Hi
I am thinking of purchasing a Garmin nuvi 660, before I do so I have a couple of questions:
I am going to Canada shortly and I am having trouble finding a Canada map (well, one that's purchaseable in the UK, anyway). Where can I get Canada maps, as the GarminUK site doesn't seem to have them.
Also, I will need Canadian POIs and speed cameras. Does anyone have any ideas on where I can find them?
many thanks

Actually, is the 660 available in the UK?
If not, what is the highest in the range that's available in the UK?
thanks

660 is available in UK - with entire western europe and a bits of eastern europe pre-loaded.
According to the GARMIN web site the North America DVD (City Navigator
North America V8 NT) covers Canada as well - it also has post code support for Canada. See
http://www.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/citynavnt.jsp#map for info.
You should be able to load specific areas onto an SD card for use over there.
Can't see anything about speed cameras - but a google search may reveal something! _________________ Phil |

The 660 has been available from lots of places for a while now in the UK. I think the Canadian maps are available with the Nuvi sold in the States but not the UK. That is also on sale in lots of places on the net.
I stand to be corrected. |

I don't know about availability but the nuvi 670 (or even nuvi 370) which are new devices have both Europe and North America loaded - it may be cheaper than Europe only device plus the appropriate North America DVD _________________ Phil |

Just a different view "The TomTom GO 910 is the world’s first device to store pre-installed maps* of Europe, the USA and Canada, making driving in multiple continents a reality".
And it's cheaper than the Nuvi if you look around. |

Thanks for the above info.
One more question.... do any Garmin sat navs have a remote, or is the Tomtom unique in this?
thanks |

Hi again. My 910 has a remote and my Nuvi 660 didn't. |
