can somebody help me.i have just purchased my first tom tom go 710 and installed the home software from the disc inside the box,when i check for updates it tells me there is a tom tom application for go 510/710 9.5mb for me to update,my go 710 says tom tom application for go 510/710 7.5mb is installed,so here is the question,i only have 3.7mb of free space so can anybody tell me if i need to update and if so do i have to delete some items,if so what would be the best to delete.... |

It is always best to update and have the latest software, but that is your choice, to free up some space you could delete the extra voices you don't need or will ever use.
It might also be worth investing in a larger SD card (2gb)
But before you do anything BACK UP YOUR DEVICE _________________ Tomtom Go730T

It will automatically delete the "old" application first.

I found it easier to buy a bigger SD card, £10 for 512meg or £17 for a gig. Loads of space.
Look at the Tomtom in My Computer, select all files and copy them to a temporary folder on your PC (or at least a folder where you can find them). Also make sure you've clicked 'Show all hidden files' in Tools, Folder Option, View before copying.
Then remove your current SD card from the tomtom, insert the new blank card and copy all the saved files from the temp folder onto it.
Do the update, then do a backup to your HDD. |

Hi guys and thanks for all the help,received mymemory 2gb 133x card today,backed up original,copied and pasted to new card,fitted new card to TT switched on updated and working a treat thanks again folks...CHEERS...ANDY :D |
