I've been a visitor for quite a while now but over the last week the forums have been as slow as treacle. It takes ages to load. I've visited other forums and they load quickly enough and all other websites I visit are pretty responsive it just seems to be http://pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums that is slow

We are aware of the speed issues and are working on a resolution, victims of our own success I'm afraid but we're doing our best to restore normal service

30 or less online and page load is ok, but when you start getting 79 on at the same time it's taking 40 - 50 secs to load a page.

| It's not necessarily the most online, it's how many SQL searches people are doing and how many people are trying to hack the site at the same time that's bringing it to a crawl. |

Ref the loading time for the forum :
It can be speeded up a lot by disabling "Show pictures" & "Play animations" in Internet Explorer Tools, Internet Options, Advanced.
Although maybe the advertisers may not be so keen on this idea !

As a newby to PDAs & GPS, this is a fantastic site / forum to get info to help the initial purchase & then resolve issues etc.
I'm now the very happy owner of a Dell Axim X51V PDA, TomTom Navigator 6 & Memory map software - bought with guidance from forum users info
