|
|
For the last 3 years I have always used Tom Tom via my HP PDA. Two weeks ago I purchased the new 710. I am very happy with it having used it drive from Spain to UK via France, without any map issues. However the windscreen bracket is a problem as the weight of the 710 after a few bumps and miles, no longer keeps its position and ends up facing the dash. This is most annoying as every few minutes you have to re-adjust the 710 so you can see the screen/display. Anybody else having this problem? Is there a solution, is there a way to contact TomTom about it ? Thanks |

The mount for the x10 units has been widely reported over the past few months, firstly make sure the device is attached to the windscreen correctly, turn the locking ring to the right until you have felt/ heard two clicks, the second click locks the mount preventing the "Droop" problem.
If you have done the above contact TomTom for a replacement mount, they should send you one through the post try 08451610009 for the contact number - Mike |

There have been several reports that the replacement mount can be just as bad or worse....
However, there have been two or three D.I.Y. solutions, involving adding a friction material between the ball and the socket, spraying the ball to remove glossyness and even putting a locking screw through the socket into the ball.
Have a search here and the Yournav.com forums for "how to's..." |

Hi thanks for replies. Tomtom have advised me they are aware of the problem and supplied me a link to order a free replacement. Will see if replacement is an improvement. Cheers |
