Does anyone know of a way to get Satnav on a mobile phone in Japan?
I would like to have a "quality" solution similar to Tomtom, but a simple Java application would be fine too. The maps would need to be stored on the memory card, not downloaded real-time, since the phone won't work in Japan.
Does such a thing exist?

Sorry, I meant that I want something to run on my Nokia 6600.
I would prefer to avoid renting/purchasing something over there, since that would mean carrying two phones around with me which would probably get annoying. |

You need a different device anyhow, the Nokia won't work in Japan.
Japan is lightyears ahead in the navigation market, you are best off getting something there. _________________ Lutz

I guess you're right, there seems to be satnav available to us for almost every first-world country except Japan. Seems odd, but then again, there might not be a market when it's already dominated by Japanese manufacturers.
I wasn't planning on making phone calls over there anyway, I only really use it for other things anyway (dictionary, movies, games, etc). I think I'll just have to live with carrying two phones around. |

Do tell us your experience, so we can all drool about photorealistic 3D buildings on the navi screens. _________________ Lutz
