Rolling back software

Hi, as im a relatively new user with the i3, everything seemed fine until today. I was on my way home from hols with a caravan, when the i3 started giving a series of beeps for no reason, then the screen went blank & the i3 is now in shut off mode. Powered by 12volt at the time, but also had batteries inserted, unpluged the powercable & reconected, but the unit was still dead with 12 volt supply & also internal batteries. Eventually found my own way to my destination then unplugged the i3, removed pencil batteries & held down power button & the i3 powered up fine. I have checked all connections etc and are all fine, has anyone else experienced this ? Crying or Very sad

Im currently using software version 3.10 & the i3 is less than a month old, so ive been reading through the forum & have decided to try version 2.7 as most people consider it the most reliable. But please can you advise how to load it. I have installed easygps & backed up my fav's etc but am unsure what i need to do to install version 2.7 over 3.10

any advice is greatly appreciated

Download the firmware you want from http://www.gpsinformation.org/perry/streetpilot/sp_ix/ plug the i3 into your PC and double click the download.
