I've a TTG910 App: 6.110. Does anyone have any ideas why do I get POI warnings when the POI's are not on the route I am travelling?
This has occurred where the POI's are nearby the route i am on, for say traffic light camer and speed cameras. I have edited the 'Warn when near POI' option to 'only on route' but I still get the warnings.
It's not life threatening, just annoying.

Mine does this, I have found that usually when this occurs the camera (or other POI for that matter) is close to the actual route you are on so the device issues the alert, it doesn't happen all the time, but where it does occur it allways issues a warning when passing the same location (M6 south bound near the large Argos depo, the junction around here I always get a Gatso warning on the motorway - Its on an adjacent road) - Mike |

So... when edited the 'Warn when near POI' option to 'only on route' doesnt actually work?
Instead if a POI appears and it's within a 'certain' distance to the route it is activated.

It does exactly the same thing when you run TTN5,21 on a PDA, the same alerts for the same camera positions, so I guess its consistant, I don't find that there are too many camera positions that do this, there are probably four or five that spring to mind, and I do cover quite a distance with the nav units each week - Mike |

I'm sure this happens more than it used to with earlier software versions.
Now I often find that at motorway junctions, the slip road and any roundabout etc. seem to be included in the "route", so any cameras on the roundabout trigger an alert as you sail past on the main road.
I'm convinced that when I first started playing with "Warn only when on route", it stopped all of those false alerts. |
