Spoke with tt support and they cannot help me as the data card I have is not the one supplied by them, so under warranty they cannot help unless I pay them. I need to find a better way of getting this upgrade to work.its not helpful this! _________________ TTG300 with version 7.903. (9183/081205)OS:2344, GPS v1.21 Boot 4.8600

Can anyone confirm that the old favourites were stored in Great_Britain-map.cfg and the new version of this file in 6.15 is mapsettings.cfg...? |

grief no its not stolen, i just wanted a bigger sd card to add other stuff. i cannot believe that having a bigger memory card would cause all this trouble! _________________ TTG300 with version 7.903. (9183/081205)OS:2344, GPS v1.21 Boot 4.8600

Mike, don't worry. I'll drop it then. Thought I might be able to purchase said voices legally. Annoying that the capability seems to be there (based on menu and options screen) but the voices aren't. It's a bit of a tease. Ah well. Thanks |

Then if it's not stolen just reformat your card and start again using the original as a master.
You might want to chaeck out the speed on your card as some of the larger cheaper ones arent fast enough to keep up with the tom tom.
There is a link on here somewhere.
If not then I suggest buying another card and using the one you have got deom something else.
At least you could still you use your Tom tom on the original card in the mean time _________________ TomTom 300

Reformatted card, downloaded update then transferred back up onto card. same problem. tried different card, same problem. spoke with tt support this am who said I should not have been told they could not help. all i need to do is to check the speed of the sd card. now problem here is i have tried a 1gb card and a 512 card both no use. I am not going to buy cards that are potentially not going to work. Any ideas on how to check speed of card? tt say must be 10mb or more _________________ TTG300 with version 7.903. Do a full backup to your pc either with tom tom home or the other way with the cable provided and just backed up to the hard drive
Then all you have to do is place the blank reformatted card in and do a backup / restore back to your tom tom.
Simple :D _________________ TomTom 300

Sort of tried that and did not work, however here is what i do know worked:
downloaded update onto original sd card that came with ttg300
reformatted 1gb sd card
saved original sd card onto computer (as you mentioned pip510)
put in 1gb sd card, copied original sd card onto 1gb card. deleted data.chk as i needed realvoice prompts and voila!
I am no computer lad and excuse the time/messages it took but i am chuffed as not even tt could give me that step by step to help.

Has any one managed to get Rays extended warnings running on this latest version. Each time I try it just locks up.

I dont think I would have done any updating on to the original card what so ever as I don't think its worth it, if the card gets screwed then I wouldnt be surprised if TT were not helpful.
However I would still try to do a full back up first, then back up to sd card.
Though if you have screwed upi your card you might need to contact tt support as not sure what options are left for u.
No point backing up something that wont work in the first place. _________________ TomTom 300
