No. There is no problem installing new maps on your unit. You just need the unique product code supplied when you buy them. Combine that with the device code of your hardware at a tomtom website (www.ttcode.com) and it generates an activation code to get the maps working.
You can't blame TomTom for trying to protect their intellectual property by using access codes.

Surely removing the SD card from one unit and passing it over is in fact removing the software from one system?
As a relatively newcomer to this site I also have to agree with some of the earlier comments with regards to what amounts to a blatantly rude discourteous initial reply.

I have a company car, and my wife has her own. I have a Go 700 which I normally use in my company car. However, if my wife needs to navigate somewhere during the week, I simply let her use the 700, and I do without it. (My car knows the way to work and back without satnav.) Is this breaking the conditions of the EULA?

Not if you read the EULA, the software is licenced to be installed on ONE device, which it is. Like Windows on a computer, MS would have no problem if the computer had multi users, as long as the Software is not pirated and used on several devices.
I can't understand why all this bickering has started, maybe the hot weather.

All of these lessons in morality are coming from the folks here who assist you in breaking Britain's traffic laws. Is there a double standard going on?

How does having a Speed Camera Database assist you in breaking the law? Surely when you get a warning you slow down, in effect making you keep within the law. Using your logic you could also say the police/councils assist you breaking the law by having camera warning signs and painting the camera a high visibilty yellow.
Anyway, I thought these Forums were to assist people with problems.

Then I guess radar detectors also exist to keep us honest. Why then are they banned in most jurisdictions?
I think it is naive to not think that most people downloading the speedcams are doing so because they are driving too fast and they want to reduce the risk of getting caught.
