I would say no this will not be possible in addition to the small screen size for video I doubt the unit supports third party applications being made for it, let alone actually running, TT on the otherhand supply (at a cost) to enable people to add functionality, personally the device is a sat nav - if you want DVD playing in the car, then purchase a DVD and screen - Mike |

I've not seen one that plays videos (not saying there isn't one) but the £500 TT910 has a 20Gb hard disk compared to the i3s tiny memory capacity. Can't see how you'd fit a video file on an i3 let alone play one. |

At the sort of screen resolution the i3 has, it would seem a little, well, small - especially for widescreen stuff - can you imagine watching something in 2.35:1 on an i3 screen!
But as to capacity, as you can get transflash cards in 512M and 1G, I'd say you could easily fit (probably) a couple of full length movies.
However, I'm damn sure there's no codec support, nor any video player software hidden, or available to run on an i3. |

nice - but also illegal if it is visible from the driovers seat, which I guess the GPS normally would be :-( |

Only if the vehicle is moving which is why most Sat Nav that have TV tuners in big Mercs etc cut the picture if going over 5 mph or so. Wouldn't be difficult to build into a Sat Nav. |

Mmmm..... i3 + Video = No
I'm all for exploiting a products potential but the phrase "square peg in a round hole" springs to mind.
Go for a PDA based GPS solution and save a whole lot of trouble.
or.....
Most decent phones play MP4 etc. so I would use that. The later also has the benefit of a good excuse for a proper hard wired car kit which prevents you looking a cyber gimp with bluetooth ear growth. :D _________________ -----------------------------------

it says a memory card as small as 128mb can store a couple of episodes.
i wonder what format that is?
personally i cant see it myself, maybe on a bigger memory card though. |

Depends on the codec used, and the compression.
Don't forget, though, that for portable devices such as this, the screen resolution is relatively low.
But as I mentioned in my other post - I can hardly see the codec support, nor software player support, being tenable on such a device as the i3.
Were it a masked PDA ie Palm or PocketPC type device, it may be a different story.
But the capacity of a memory card to store a reasonable amount of video, given that you can get transflash cards up to a gig in size, and that the screen resolution (and hence, the bitrate that would be sufficient) being so low, you could probably get a reasonable amount on a card.
Look at devices like PSPs that rely on flash memory - or other portable devices that solely use flash memory. |

Can my garmin i3 make me a cup of tea and drive my car while i sit in the back and have a nap?
It's a GPS for £100 !!! What more do you want?
The more features it has the more likely it is to go wrong. That goes with everything!
Sorry but I just don't get why you'd want a video on your i3. you'd need a microscope to look at it anyway.
Put a CD in and get some culture in to you. Eastenders can wait an hour! |

I have no issue with little men with glasses as long as they don't drive down the motorway with their right arms dangling out their car window....
Is it me or is this the latest chav pose for driving? Left arm stretched straight out on top of the steering wheel daft lean like they have pulled a muscle in their neck and right arm dangling out the window..... grrrr
This is nothing to do with Videos on i3's but I feel better for my rant thank you....... :D _________________ -----------------------------------
