Tumwater, WA is not in the Address index. Crying or Very sad I was told by a PowerLoc technician that I would have to use the zip code instead of the City name to input addresses in Tumwater. This worked but concerns me, as you generally don't use zip codes (who knows many of them) to locate cities, i.e., you know Cities by their names, not their zip codes.

BTW, Tumwater was in the Address index of Destinator2.

Received Destinator 3.0.54 yesterday, there's a couple of bugs I've noticed.

1) The verbal instruction to take exit 4 at a roundabout is missing, It say something like " Take roundabout Exit" then it just bleeps, omitting the spoken word 4.

2) Instead of giving the audible warning of roundabout 2 miles, it mistakenly says " Take roundabout 3 miles"

Not so much errors, more if you dont have the postcode of your intended destination looking up can be extremely difficult.

The town lookup dosent really work it seems to be you need to look for the borough rather than the town eg:

Tooting comes under the borough of Wandsworth

Plough lane Wimbledon comes under sutton

Verdant lane Hither green comes under london

eastworth road chertsey comes under runnymede

etc. etc. this all being very well if you happen to know the borough you are going to.

Just something to be aware of.

Regards
Stoneman

a full 6 digit postcode would sort it all out but i guess too much ram ?

ie >postcode >house number

why does it think the a5 is better heading into london than the a41 ? :P

Hi Mark,

Yes, the "3 miles" voice error can be corrected to 2 miles simply by editing the "DestinatorVoiceManeuvres.inf" file, using say Notepad. It can be found on the PPC in:

DestinatorApps/Destinator/Common/Interface/Voice/All

Change the "3" to "3*2" in the appropriate roundabout intruction line (compare it with the turn commands). i.e. change it to:

::MC,ROUND_ABOUT*FIRST_DISTANCE,0,0,circle;EXIT_NUMBER;exit;3*2;UNITS,"Take round about xxxx exit 3/2 miles/kilometers"

You can make many other changes to the voice commands if you wish, e.g. see my post in the following thread:

http://pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=21290&start=15

Cheers, Alan.

hi all:
using d3 down the road to dorchester on A35 suddenly it says turn left. though initailly it says 3 to 6 miles away the next turn.
this a glitch! a wrong route, ironically if u turn it will say make u turn.. which is correct!! but no funny!

also i found d3 without london congestion markings is a pain in the bum!
i found many times d3 cuts across london city!
even if i put the settings at fastest not shortest.

it also has the ability to take u thru most obscure roads in london.

last it took me to a ferry port at woolwich instead of taking the blackwall tunell. unfortunately ferry port was closed!! not very helpful.
finally it took me 3 1/2 hrs to get to east london from west london.

but next day it took me to hillingdon with out any hitch. i usually now days check rac route planner as well.

this time alone d3 was superior to rac route planner. also return trip via m3 it calculated fine.
but this is out moe than 10 badly calculated routes!!!

it also somtimes say turn left but route on display is to right!!
