You mentioned an error during audio playback. I get this as well and it's extemely annoying as I have to hit the next button after every song to listen to an album or playlist all the way through. It's like the songs are fine but there is something wrong with the way the TT is queuing them up.
I've tried giving it a reset, and this will work for perhaps a little while and then it will start again. I cant seem to narrow down what causes it either, it just comes ramdomly. Sometimes it will be working fine for 3 or 4 songs and then it will start up.
Is anybody else experiencing this? Any workarounds you have found? |

Thats a bummer that you're having that problem. Have you contacted TomTom about it? Seems like if there's an audio problem like that, it would be a candidate for a future firmware upgrade.
A friend of mine was at the Telematics confernce in Detroit and said that they had the 910 on display at the TeleAtlas booth. I'm sure if anyone is still there, they'd be able to inquire about the problem there. |

No matter what settings you select for the music/voice instructions combination you can't get the music to continue playing during the voice instructions. I have emailed Tomtom customer support who have referred it to their technical department.
As for the errors on playback I have noticed the following pattern, I get the errors only whe I resume a playlist/album etc. I will always get an error if I resume and the song playing is near the end, I don't get an error if I resume playback near the start of a song, so for now when I resume playback I will skip to the next track if it resumes past the middle of a song, a temporary fix but hopefully a future firmware update will fix this as I have emailed Tomtom about it too.

is it only me who finds having to navigate through menus to manipulate MP3 control a pain? If a non partnered phone rings for instance and you have map display on, it's a pain to have to finddle about so much.
I'm surprised to find that there's not an option to use the remote to only control audio playback. I'd have liked that! so I can use the remote to immediately control mp3 or book playback and use the screen as normal for navigation stuff.. |

there is also plenty of room for a few playback control icons down the left/right side of the screen, considering they went for a dumb landscape view.
(hopefully they'll come up with a new layout where the junction/info bar is on the left/right, with a taller, squarer map next to it) |

Just to add a bit a weight to the discussion, I too get MP3s failing at the end of some long MP3 audio books I have.
What would also be nice display wise would be to include the current track title somewhere on the navigation screen so you can tell where you are song wise without having to go back to the juke box view.

Thanks for the tip guys! I'll try this (selecting the next track before resuming) on my way home tonight. With this workaround it wont be as much of a deal. Hopefully a firmware update will take care of this.
Yeah some playback control on the map screen would be great, or at least somewhere we can tap to jump right to the player. |

Hi
Just a quick question, i am still having problems getting my 910 to play via the aux, tried different cables to no avail so going to get in touch with tomtom.
However my question is this, if you set your 910 to play audio via an external speaker does the audio still play out the 910's speaker as well as the aux speaker or does it just play via the aux speaker ???
Regards
Peter |

It just plays out of the external speaker, if you have selected this option and you are getting music out of the GO unit then it hasn't clicked onto the mount properly(or you have a faulty mount) |

hehe :D
Tell you whats faulty, the people on the tomtom support site, they are faulty.
Sent them a nice email explaining that even though i have clicked the play sound via an external speaker option and i have used the tomtom supplied cable and a second cable to be on the safe side it still doesnt work yada yada yada.
Got a nice reply saying, please make sure external speaker option is ticked and to use the supplied cable if i have any more Q's please get in touch. Foooools |

Got a reply from TomTom support about the pausing music during instructions.
Quote: |
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.
The option for pausing music while given route instructions is only intended for HiFi Bluetooth car speaker systems. When using the audio cable, music will always be paused when a route instruction is given. In future software releases we expect the option of pausing the music will only be asked when a HiFi Bluetooth device has been configured as an external speaker.
Kind regards,
Mathew
