Hi,
Just got my Mio 168 loaded up witht the tomtom navigator 5 software. All working ok after I eventually figured out how to make it see the internal GPS antenna !!.
My question is that on the tomtom display screen, i have shown that no sattelites are found, and my status bar is 0, but when you click on to check, it shows that there are 7-9 sattelites with good signal, yet i still show 0.
But, the system works fine. I used to run Medion Navigator 5.0 but swapped to tomtom.
Can anyone help ??
Thanks,

Hi,
Mine shows No satellites !!!
Only in the GPS status when it lists the various numbered sattelites do you see any. But even then it still says No Sattelites

You didn't say whether you had updated to 5.21. If you haven't you will find an improvement on your unit. Only little things but better.
Have you Configured it to Other NMEA GPS - GPS Baud Rate 4800 - Serial Cable on SP2 ?
Try changing to TomTom Cable GPS to see if there is a difference.
If you still have the same problem, after trying the above, it may pay you to hard re-set and re-install the Software and maps. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Yes, I am on 5.21 and my GPS is set for Other NMEA GPS - GPS Baud Rate 4800 - Serial Cable on SP2 .
If i select tomtom cable gps, i get "No Valid GPS Device".
I have tried a hard reset and reinstalled software but exactly the same !!

I'm sure I've seen a similar problem in this Forum. I'll see if I can find the answer. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

SirSwampThing,
That was the answer !!!
Downloaded the firmware upgrade, and the problem has been sorted.
I did'nt even consider firmware, i was looking at programme error
But now sorted, locks on quicker, and displays status.
thanks for your help
