pocketgpsworld.comWell we've been desperate to discuss this for some time now but at last we can reveal our very own GPS Navigation System, the PGPS-602!

The 602 is a self contained vehicle navigation system with full UK & Europe Mapping, 7-Digit Postcode and a few extras we're sure you'll all love.

Map data is courtesy of Navteq and the interface and routing algorithms have been specifically designed for this unit. Full guidance is featured with Sarah Montague and Edward Stourton from BBC's Radio4 'Today' programme providing the voices. Using an intelligent learning agent the software adapts to your driving style and will avoid roads that you avoid. It can also 'learn' that certain roads are slow at certain times of the day. Safety Camera support is of course built-in and when coupled to a compatible phone, new locations can be uploaded direct to the database in real-time and new data downloaded. BT Hands free capability is also featured.

And finally we have included Mobile iTunes which will sync with your PC's iTunes Library and play music tracks whilst you navigate through its built-in stereo speaker.

The unit features:
RiSC-OS Processor clocked at 650MHz
Internal 30GB HDD
BT, WLAN and iR communication
Internal Gyroscope sensors for navigation in poor signal areas
British designed GPS Chipset (SSIII Beater!)
Internal 4hr Li-Ion battery
Touch Screen

Pricing and availability to be announced shortly

I run a Spaghetti Harvesting business, and would seriously consider placing a bulk order of these beauties, as it's a right finding the best crops down those tight rural lanes... 8)

Nah, gotta be an April Fool.
Wink

Seriously, how will this compare with the Tom Tom 910?

I'm in the market for a new piece of kit and would love to have some more info on this.

Cheers,

Sounds good. I am in the market place at the moment looking to upgrade my current system. Being a HGV Driver I like the sound of the system being able to learn my driving style.

One thing you have not mentioned is TMC is this going to be available and is it going to be via GPRS or radio data?

One last comment is how does this fit in with the sites being un-biased when you are now selling your own branded products?

Its gotta be an April Fool (such a shame!) - With all the knowledge Pocket GPS have it would be a stunning unit!

But its gotta be an April Fool - how can a GPS Unit have a 'Stereo Speaker' - surely its 'Stereo Speakers' or 'Mono Speaker'.

It is of course an April's Fool spoof although the humour appears to have been lost on some of you!
