World Exclusive - Haicom's new BT Slipper (with photos!)

Haicom have just release a new Bluetooth Slipper. It is designed for use with the current range of Haicom 303's (including MMF, E and S versions), and allows you to slip the Haicom 303 into the slipper and angle the receiver.

This slipper will then turn the Haicom 303 GPS Receiver into a Bluetooth Receiver and allow you to connect from any Bluetooth enabled Pocket PC.

The slipper acts as a docking station for the Haicom 303 and can be used with all Bluetooth enabled Pocket PC's, Notebook PC's, Smart Phones and Tablet PC's. The receiver comes with a metal finished base which will allow you to fix it to a magnetic windscreen mount.

The Haicom BT Slipper comes with a mini-1394 (Firewire) connector and comes with additional add-ons such as a Solar Panel Power Charger and Data Logger. Haicom are currently stating the battery performance as 8 hours, but with solar panel attached you can get more than 12 hours of use (depending on sunlight)

Great to see that not only have Haicom produced the first combined Cf and mouse GPS, but now they've added bluetooth! Im sure Dave mentioned in his 303-MMF review about this as the ultimate add on 'if those people at Haicom are listening'. Some inside information perhaps??

This really takes care of all of my doubts surrounding which GPS to go for. I had almost settled on the 303-MMF. As long as the Haicom 303 MMF performs well, why go for anthing else?

One question, any idea at all what sort of pricing the bluetooth slipper will come in at?

I would hope that this bluetooth option would also not suffer from the same failures of other bluetooth devices that have been reported elsewhere on this site, given the different approach.

I have been speaking with BuyGPSNow.com and they now have it available on their website at $230 which includes both the slipper and a 303MMF and all of the list below:-

Bearing in mind that UK prices seem to be about on par with a straight $/£ conversion, and also the 303MMF sells for around £100 in the UK, I would say no less than £150 and no more than £250. Seeing that it has Bluetooth also, then it will probably be more around £230/250 mark.

Prices are in the previous message. These are only estimate though as I don't know of any UK retailers yet importing them.

The BuyGPSNow.com package includes the 303E-version. Is there any major differencies between MMF, E ans S? Which one suites best to use in Europe?

E contains the Evermore chipset (not as good as Sirf), S is Sirf XTrac, and MMF is standard SiRF IIe/LP.
