As I have said many times, up-to-date and accurate maps are the most essential part of a navigation programme. If only Tomtom were to let us have a map update every twelve months I think that the huge majority of Tomtom users would be more than happy. There’s no need for them to pour vast amounts of money into developing a TT6 or a TT7, just maps would suffice. However, it will never be possible to have completely up-to-date maps because the time involved between the drawing board and actually putting the finished product onto the market must run into many, many months. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

There is a map update on the TomTom site, its v632 UK plus maps, and costs about £40. |

ouch, £40 is a bit steep, i only paid £100 for the whole unit, with tt5 already installed !
i was hoping there was somewhere to download ( or scrounge ! ) the new map from. for free or a nominal fee. if anyone has any ideas, drop me a line -

Your suggestion is not scrounging, it is actually called theft.
By the way as you paid so little for your set up it is possible that the version of TT you already have is an illegal copy. You will not be able to activate any maps you download without the original code for your software. Did your seller provide that to you as he should if it was a legitimate peoduct. _________________ Peter

Which suggests you have a unit with a pirate version of TomTom on. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Why on earth does that follow - he doesn't say whether it was new or second hand. I paid £90 secondhand for TT5 including a BT GPS. Was that piracy ? |

Given the need for a forum like this to bloody fix TTN 5 problems, £100 probably reflects the true value..... _________________ XDA Orbit (the best so far)

.......but then again, I like a challenge, and it has helped to stop me getting lost like I used to, and of course the camera database is invaluable - I will be subscribing! _________________ XDA Orbit (the best so far)
