I have the XDA Mini S with WIndows Mobile 5 on it. I have TomTom installed. On my Today screen, where you can choose what appears there, such as Message, Calender, Tasks etc. Tomtom appears there, im happy with that but I have just installed some things things and would like to place a shortcut there instead of having to go into File Explorer or Programs everytime.
any help will be appreciated. I hope my question makes sense

Hi tcepser
I too have the XDA Mini S and will intall TT5 as soon as I receive my mini sd card. Did you encounter any installation problems? Please let me know what you did to install?
Regarding launching programs from the Today screen, check out SPB Pocket Plus. I think that will do what you want.

Well first of all I would just like say you have certainly have the right phone, I love it. About the tomtom installation, like everything, I had a few issues with it but after a bit of tweaking its all sorted and working like a treat.
Installation went ahead like a treat, clicked Tomtom from the today screen, started setting it up (setting the time format, choosing the voice, etc) but then I came across a 'No Maps Found' error message.
I was taken back a bit because I was sure that I had done everything correctly. I was told that I had to copy all of the tomtom folder (such as 2577, map folder, etc) into a folder on the SD card. However this is not the case, MAKE SURE that all of the tomtom folders are directly in the SD cards root directory.
The next little hurdle that I came to was the GPS receiver. I had to buy one from ebay but it was not a branded, so installation with that was a bit different. If this is your case just make sure that you pair your device with the receiver, then go to the Com Ports tab. I have set in incoming port on COM7, and my receiver is set to an Outgoing port on COM6.
I hope this doesnt throught you back, I can assure you that it will be worth. And I'm sure that I was just unlucky with the above
Good luck
Tcepser
One more thing, can you please explain a bit more about this SPB Pocket Plus. Do I do a google search, how much does it cost? etc.
Thank you so much for your help :D

Alternativel you could remap a hardware button to activate Tomtom. The top right hand side button suits me (button 4). This is done here Start/Settings/Buttons.

What a simple and great idea mullet! I really would have never thought of that. Thank you.
I would still like to actually get a shortcut there tho, for future reference and also when I assign all of my buttons I will need an alternative. While I have you here, is there anyway I can get the proper battery status health bar instead of that silly little battery symbol on the bottom right of the screen.

Thanks once again
There are many, but I prefer as little intrusion as possible on the limited screen real estate. I use "Batti". Stare carefully at the screennshot in the below link or you will not see it It is just a narrow horizontal line at the top of the screen customizable by pixel width and colour. Also alerts when low and critical.
