Richard Davies has just released LogConverter. LogConverter can be used to show the track stored in a TomTom Navigator Log file by converting it to a format suitable for display in a mapping program on a PC, or by converting it to a TomTom POI overlay for display in Navigator on a PocketPC.

LogConverter supports the following export formats:- AutoRoute PushPin data file, Garmin PCX5, Maptech Terrain, TomTom Navigator POI Overlay

Golfer,

TomTom Navigator can be set up to record the track that you followed when out driving. The track (or log) is saved in a .pgl file on the PocketPC. Although this log file can be replayed under TTN it is slow and does not give a permanent record of the track.

If the TTN Log file is transferred to a PC, the program LogConverter can be used to read the data in the .pgl file and format it for importing into mapping programs, ie Garmin MapSource, Memory-Map Navigator, Microsoft AutoRoute. Another option, supported by the program, is to convert the log into a TTN POI overlay which can be transferred back to the PocketPC for display in TTN.

Oldie - Thank you for the response. This is interesting. You say that it can be displayed. However, is it feasible that you could 'record' say a journey home from work avoiding motorway mayhem and following a friend who knows a cross country route. Then use the software and TTN to give a route that could be used both A to B and B to A ?

There is no way of transferring a route to TTN. All routes are from A to B and are calculated by TTN on the PocketPC. Once a route has been calculated it is possible to specify that the reverse route should be used.

It would be good to be able to specify A to B via C and D, but it is not possible with the current version of TTN. Perhaps some time soon we will be able to do that at least.
