Since purchasing my MDA III (with Co-Pilot) from T-Mobile, I've had nothing but problems with software issues . Firstly the SD card crashed (in the middle of London ) and I then had issues around reactivating, due to the wrong activation codes being issued. My main question is why do my Co-pilot software discs show version 6 (Live 6), but all the screens on my PDA point to it being version 5. All the shown pages on the ALK support pages show a "6" in the top right hand corner, but mine doesn't!! I don't have the same page layout on variouis pages. I don't even know which version I have anymore. Anyone else had these problems/know the answers? I can't get the software to show the "gatso/camera" logo, from this siteon the maps, just the car/aeroplane symbol. How do I change this? I have tried following the way they say, by adding the single file version ov2 files to the save file. It then says it should say "gps ov2" in the custom POI settings page, but it's not there!! Can I get it to show the cameras on the 3D maps, as I am driving?Help is required with all of these, if anyone knows what's going on!!
I recently RETURNED an MDA Vario & CoPilot 6 to T-mobile (demanding a full refund after they messed me about for two weeks and cut off my exisitng SIM in the process!) Anyhow, I've now gone with the same handset but from O2. Although I've yet to purchase a separate copy of CoPilot, the difference in the speed/functionality of O2's "tweaked" Windows Mobile O.S. is very noticeable! The T-mobile "customisations" seemed to do more harm than good. Not only does my O2 PPC perform better, it actually has MORE functions!
I'll let you know when I finally get CP6 installed on it.
Hi, did you load the software from the CD's or where you supplied with a SD card with everthing installed? If the latter maybe the SD card had CP5 on it!! Try installing off the CD's and overwrite the SD card contents. Before you do this I suggest you back up the contents of the SD card first. This may also explain why you had a problem with the keycode after it crashed.
I did have it sent through on a SD card at first, but this crashed and lost its program, in the middle of London. So I had a few discussions with the support team and they advised me to use the CD's to create a new SD card, after the card was reformatted. The original card said CP5, but the discs say CP6, so I assume I am now on version 6.
Still can't get it to show the small bipmap image of the camera from the single file version files you can get from here. It does however show camera positions on a map as a "car", but these, as with all POI's disappear as you start moving!! It changes to a full screen warning as you approach the camera and stays for far too long or until I press the X to remove the screen and return it to the map. I've also cahnged the stupid voice thing, that is almost so crap it's unbelievable. What the hell is "Mil-les" when it's at home. "Miles" would be a little better. I now use the female "wav" files as opposed to the text to speech files. Very disappointed with Co-Pilot TBH, so I wish I'd bought the Tom Tom version instead :x :x .
Jules.
