|
|
I have used the 2210/Emtac combo for about 6 weeks with TTN2, Memory Map and Teletype, no real problem.
I then cancelled the pairing and used another GPS receiver for about 3 weeks.
NOW I can't get the Emtac to work.
1) The Emtac has been tested OK by 'totalPDA'i.e works with other PDA.
2) I can get the pairing accepted but it drops out after about 1 min.
3) BT manager shows 'outgoing' signal OK with 5 green squares
4) BT manager shows NO incoming signal
5) BT manager shows inbound COM5, outbound COM8
6)TTN2 GPS2.06 being used ( I have used 2.07 previously)
7)2.06 will NOT allow use of COM8, COM5 accepted???????????, no signal
8) Other progs, no signal on COM5 or COM8
Any ideas, I don't really want to do a hard reset -yet?????? |

Providing you've got the correct pin/key of 0183 set to bind and communicate with the Emtac, if it's not working but does on another Pocket PC, then I suspect you have a corrupted Bluetooth stack. It could be something you've installed recently, or it could have just corrupted of it's own accord.
Only recall there would be to perform a hard backup and restore back to a previous backup in Pocket Backup. If you don't have a recent backup, then performing a hard reset should get the Bluetooth stack back and working as it is part of the OS. |

Thanks Dave,
Nothing seems to work.
I will try a hard reset next week after an important test flight.
Thanks |

You might want to backup what you currently have with Pocket Backup, because if for some reason you find a hard reset not making any difference at all, at least you can restore back what you had. That's what I usually do, giving you double indemnity. |

Dave,
The hard reset worked, I now have BT and Emtac working as intended.
Still don't know what caused it??
Thanks |

It sounds like it was a corruption in the BT stack. It could be caused by installing other software that's stomped over several of the DLL's in memory, or just a glitch at some stage. I lost the entire PPC once by switching it off, the PPC turned back on again for some reason, and I immediately switched it off.
At that point it wouldn't read my SD card, and there was nothing I could do to rectify it. Tried restoring the Pocket Backup I had, still couldn't read any SD card from that point on. I then performed a hard reset and then restored the backup and all was fine. |
