I recently purchased the TomTom Bluetooth GPS receiver and used it successfully for a coulpe of weeks. I now find that if I press the power button *very* briefly the bluetooth (lefthand) LED flashes blue once and then no LEDs light up at all. If I press the power button for longer the left LED doesn't light at all and the right LED stays on permanently and is green. In both cases the BT manager on the PDA cannot find the BT reveiver. I've tried leaving the unit on until the battery went flat and then after recharging there was no change, the problem was still there. Any ideas?

Something similiar happened to my unit.
Still awaiting response from TT, they have asked for
serial number and I expect it will have to be returned.
I assume your unit no longer works?

That's right, it doesn't work! I've tried to contact TomTom twice via the form on their support page but after 2 weeks I've had no reply. Is there any other way to get in touch with them?

Hi
Does anyone know what the expected BT range should be.

My TomTom GPS BT-2215 works fairly well in the car but signal strength gets low at over 6feet in my kitchen.

There seems to be a few problems with th 2215/ TomTom with lockups. fail to restart, screen wont turn on. I hope sombody somewhere is working on these.
Thanks in advance

Kev

Hi rhino and dmac,

I also have the same problem that you both describe. It's been working great for the passed 3 weeks and now I have the same symptoms as you describe. Have you had any joy from tomtom? I'm also waiting for a responce from the 'support' staff.

I had problems two weeks after the review where the BT GPS died. You could power it on, the power light would come on, but no BT light would light up. TomTom did say they had experienced one or two in their early testing having this problem, but haven't heard any more since. TomTom sent me a replacement, but I'm still waiting to send the old one back.

There really isn't anything you can do when the BT talk dies. Crying or Very sad

Hi,

Thanks Dave, I was expecting something like that.

I was just wondering if there was a way of resetting the receiver. Oh well, I'll call my supplier tomorrow.

Thanks again,

You can set different power levels (low, medium, high) in your PDA's BlueTooth manager. This will influence the range quite a bit (as well as the operating time of the PDA). Most of the time you shouldn't expect more than ten meters, though

The power setting for BT is only available in the 3870 and 3970 BT software in the 22xx and the 54xx it has been removed so I dont know how or if that is controlled now.
