510 Screen Brightness

Hi
Can anyone tell me how to adjust the screen brightness other than going through the long winded way of SETTINGS, MORE SETTINGS, HARDWARE, SCREEN etc.
The other day I was fiddling around and up came a small scale on top of the map to adjust the brightness but Ive not been able to find it again. It is the same as the volume scale you get if you hold down the toggle switch on the side of the unit.

Hold down the + or - buttons while in regular map view.
