I wonder if it works in Canada then? |
Last time I heard, which was a while ago, they were only supported in the UK & NL. _________________ Skoda Columbus and for emergencies: TomTom + iPhone 4 & TomTom car kit |

I've tried the postal code thing, and it *does* work (quite well actually) in Canada....so I'll try the update to see if it works. |

I updated to 5.201 using the download off the "UK English" site. Seems to work well....*and* it doesn't seem to power off so long as it has a connection to the bluetooth gps. Postal codes work same as before.
I'm going away for a week trip to Florida, so this thing will get put to the test. I hope it doesn't fail me like on my camping trip (unit decided to "hard reset" itself...losing all my data INCLUDING my TomTom activation).
I will report back when I return |

I personally carry around with my the activation code in my wallet, as I had many problems with v5.00 initially & it wouldn't save it (zero out reset sorted that out). I also use backupman 1.53 to backup to a SD card once a day, so that I can always get my treo on the road if that happens. I've been doing that for a long time and when my T3 died on me I was able to get up and running again. Whay does it always happen when you are far from home and a PC? _________________ Skoda Columbus and for emergencies: TomTom + iPhone 4 & TomTom car kit |

...just got back from a week trip to Florida. Wanted to report that the Palm + TomTom combo worked splendidly. I was surprised as to the detail of the POI (restaurants, attractions, etc). It really was helpful, and it didn't die on me to boot! (I was backing up to SD just in case!).
Two thumbs up from me here. |
