OK. To bring this thread to a close...
For all Navman users, here's a rundown of wishes posted in this thread and whether it has made it into SmartSTv3 on the iCN:
* Support for multiple destinations!!!
now available in v3 via 'Trip Planner'
* Ability to search for POIs along a predefined route. For instance, look for nearest petrol station
now available in v3 via 'Navigate to..'
* Ability to retrieve information about a POI by "double clicking" on its icon on the map
now available in v3 by tapping and holding the POI
* Ability to specify a destination by latitude and longitude
still not currently available
* Ability to easily (without using the stylus) change between the data fields displayed on the navigation screens (DTG, TTG, ETA, Speed etc)
this feature has not changed
* Display the same data on the 2D screen as the 3D screen!!!!
simply set the 3D screen angle to 0 and you have it!
* Ability to view longitude and latitude information for stored favourites
now available in v3
* Ability to store favourite routes and/or record routes. Sometimes your own experience is better than the calculation algoritms in the program.
(I know there is a recording function already, but I haven't found out the usage of it...)
you can store favourite routes a-b-c-d etc...via Trip Planner
* Ability to create a log from a driven route including stops
you can record a route as a GPS Log File and then play it back
* Support for dynamic rerouting with TMC
not currently available
* Support for import of POIs
now available in v3 via the 'Navman POI Editor'
* Warning for certain POIs along the route, e.g speed cameras
now available in v3 via 'Active POIs'
* The facility to change higher or lower the speed settings for A and B roads
not currently available
* Full post code searching
not currently available - but you can navigate to a house number
* I wish that when I enter a postcode, it wouldn't be in red and force me to reduce the number of characters. Plus when you change part of the address higher up, it didn't delete the rest of the address below it
this was addressed with v2 Service Pack 2
Have your wishes not been granted? Post them in the version 4 wish list. _________________ Ian.

That's not what I wanted to achieve. The difference between a 2D screen and a 3D screen with the angle set to 0 is that the 2D screen is always north-up, which I sometimes prefer. In north-up mode you get a better sense of directions and geograhical locations. |

Having just had a 510 stolen (reward available for delivery of the thief dead), I suggest somekind of login security screen probably instead of the preamble waffle at startup |

SmartST 2005 V2? SmartST 2006, surely? Anyway, you can start it off in a new thread, if you have a list. _________________ Tim |
