Mine has also lost favorites three times now. The first time was on the supplied card, the next two times I was using a SanDisk 1Gb card, the last time 2 days ago it also lost my home location which it hasnt done before, come on TomTom admit to it a repair I rely on it for my work

Me too. I have a h5550 and tt5 kept forgetting the favourites and just about everything else. Like the rest of you I reported it to them ages ago and all they could suggest was that there might be something wrong with the RAM in the pda.

However, I found a fix. Are you all using replacement batteries ? Because I managed to resurrect my original HP battery which at one time seemed to be dead, and with that in place, it's fine. Problems are only occuring with the non-hp battery.

The only way I have found to secure this piece of c**p software is to manually lock the card and save favorites as a POI.

Although I cannot condone purchasing functional, but illegally copied software, I can understand why someone might consider this option - given the amount of work needed (as can be seen from this site) making it all work as it should.

Sorry, but someone had to say it.

hmmm the new tomtom update hasnt fixed the problem for me, ive lost count of the number of times it has lost everything now. Ive tried making the cfg file not read only made no difference. i have a back up copy on my laptop as well as my pda but when i try and paste them on the card now i get the message 'storage block address invalid' last week i re-entered everything manually only to lose everything the moment i turned exited the application, and i did that three times. ive never turned my ipaq 4700 off without exiting tomtom, i have the original batteries in the ipaq, and i have a legitimate copy of tomtom. So clearly no issues anywhere eh tomtom? :x

You may have a bad memory card. Have you tried another one?

I lost favorites & settings a while back. Tom Tom asked me if I had anything else on the SD card - but of course!

They told me to run Tom Tom on a dedicated card and that will solve the problem. Which it did.

My friend is having this problem on a recently purchased TTG300. It only has the supplied TT card and camera database. It appears to lose the data when the memory card is removed.
