Hi guys,

Does anyone know whether the Co-Pilot software which was originally shipped with the Compaq iNS is locked to a particular receiver? I've tried to get it working with my Emtac bluetooth wotsit but it ain't happening.....

I'm looking for somewhere in the software where I can change the com port it uses, is it possible or am I just not looking hard enough??

Yes, it will only work with the iNS sleeve, and not even a Navman 3000/3400 sleeve.

You can purchase the latest unlocked version of CoPilot Live which will work with any GPS. If you're looking for the software only version the UK Version will set you back 189.99 and the European Version will set you back 259.99.

Ahh poo, I thought that may be the case. Nevermind, I got a cheapo copy of TomTom CityMaps London when I bought a new HP 1940 and it works brill. The best bit about it is it works with my old SmartPath City Map CD's

Yippee......

If you like CityMaps, then you'll certainly like TomTom Navigator 2 as it's the big brother of CityMaps. If you're looking for unlocked software which can be used on any GPS then TomTom Navigator 2, CoPilot Live or PowerLOC Desitnator 2 will work quite nicely.
