I am using tomtom 5 app version 5.020 (535)
does anyone out there have the sound editor to change to data.chk file for this version.
I can email the data file to them if they wish. |

Hi media23,
to the forum!

It depends on the SatNav system that you wish to use them on.

I'm sure the answer is here somewhere but I'm afraid I've not found it!!
I have put the correct version of the POI warnings on my TT Go, and assigned the warning to the correct type of camera, so far so good!!However I don't know how to get the correct speed warning to be announced when a camera is detected.
Any help would be appreciated - Thanks :D |

Thanks for the speedy reply, I have managed to find the articles refered to before and have read them, I have correctly installed the data.chk file and that is working ok, my problem is getting the actual speed limit to be announced/activated.
Sorry to be such a thicko!!

Hi Vizz,
As long as you have installed the correct DATA.CHK file for your TomTom GO software version, then you:
PocketGPSWorld guide to installing POIs onto a TomTom GO wrote: | Step 5. Display POIs on your TomTom GO
Finally, to enable POIs in your TomTom GO select them in your POI categories:
Change Preferences | Manage (or Maintain) POI | Enable / Disable POI
Select POI
They now are displayed on your GO screen in both 3D maps and 2D maps.
Even if you do not display POIs on screen, you can now "navigate to" your Poi’s, find POIs near your location, etc.
Step 6. Set up Proximity Alerts (optional)
Change Preferences | Manage (or Maintain) POI | Warn when near POI
Select each POI in turn,
Select the distance for warning
Select the warning sound
Uncheck the "Warn only if POI is on route" box
Repeat until all POIs are set up to warn.
NB. If you check the "Warn only if POI is on route" box, then you will not be warned of POIs that you approach if:
1. The POIs are slightly away from the road.
2. You have no destination and therefore no route planned. |
I hope the above helps!

Check the Version.txt file in the download. It should be 3.114. _________________ Richard

Thanks again for the reply.
I have done everthing within the info you posted.
When I approach a camera my TT tells me what it is correctly, ie Gatso, Specs, Temp etc but does not give the current speed limit.
Have I got the wrong idea here? Is that as good as it gets, or am I still not doing something. Should the software give you the speed limit.
As I set the Tempoarary Camera warning at the first verbal warning available ie Tempoary 50, I am warned at all temporayr camera locations 'Temporary 50'
Thanks for your help - sorry to appear so stupid!!!!!!!! |

I've been looking back over this thread, and it is getting terribly unwieldy, with several different questions all going on at the same time.
Can I suggestit might be better to start a new thread, if there are any more follow-on questions? |
