Where did you get that from? If you read the announcement I posted here you will see the graphic that indicates the ONE has an audio out socket.

There does appear to be a headphones socket, which through an amplifier, could be connected to speakers. |

Audio out socket? Could this be used to provide an input to the vehicle audio system? My car (New Vectra) has a clever gizmo that will take the output from a mobile phone - or in its predecessor, the output from Trafficmaster. It mutes the radio so that one can use the phone hands free. Haven't got it all hooked up because I couldn't afford (well didn't want to pay for!) the docking station for my phone. But, the wiring is all there, so the question is - could one use the phone connection to accept the input from the TTG? If so, this should overcome the audio quality problem. |

hi, to read info not available on Uk site do the following
1. go to babelfish web site
http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr
2. input the following TOMTOM uRL into the translate web page section, make sure the field is empty before you paste in the link
http://www.tomtom.com/products/features.php?ID=143&Language=3
3. Select from and to language from the dropdown box (select german to english), and hit the translate button, then hey presto you can navigate the german site in translated english, even works on the links within the site |

With the 300 down to £299 now, can we expect the ONE to enter around £250?
Any more news on availability?

I doubt it, its more likely retailers clearing stocks of the 300 as it is likely the ONE is going to be the more popular choice at the bottom end.
No confirmed date for availablility but still expected to be before the end of this month. _________________ Darren Griffin |

No problem Darren... Just thought you might have had some first impressions that would help me know whether its worth waiting to get it or to get the GO or a Navman. once again no worries.
keep up the good work!! _________________ Noonster

Ah now that's different. My impressions? An excellent unit, nicer form factor than the GO, very much better reception thanks to the SiRFStarIII Chipset. Loudpeaker plenty loud enough. I'd get a ONE instead of a GO 300 even were they the same price, as it is, the ONE is nearly £100 less. _________________ Darren Griffin |

If it's £100 less, where are TT making the cuts. In other words, what can the 300 do, that the ONE can't. _________________ Richard

Well it (the ONE) has a 2hr battery, smaller speaker albeit loud enough IMHO and a non docking cradle i.e. no power/data connections, power is connected direct to the unit and no ASN although I have never seen any benefit from having it!
I suspect the economies are ones of scale, when the GO launched it was unique and unknown, the components are all very much cheaper now and TomTom's buying power means they can reduce costs quite considerably. If anyhting I suspect this could have still been sold at a profit for a lot less than £260. Certainly £199. _________________ Darren Griffin |

The only limitation that I might baulk at is the 2hr battery. You wouldn't be able to use away from vehicle for very long. Presumably it doesn't have a mains charger either. _________________ Richard
