I have just made a trip through Nothern Ireland using the latest version of Teleatlas's UK and Ireland maps and my new iCN 520. How they can sell this as a "UK and Ireland" package I don't know. The mapping detail is useless in then the north. If I lived there I'd be looking for a refund and contacting the trades description people. It's a waste of time. I appreciate that it is difficult to satisfy everyone and to cover all the roads especially when they are in a constant state of flux, but all the way from Belfast airport to Derry there were only a few junctions when the reality is far from that. This, coupled with other errors I have read in teh forums and teh fact that my own 34 year old street and postcode do not exist has left me feeling much less confident in my new purchase. Time will heal much of this I'm sure but with modern satellite imagery (see http://maps.google.co.uk) and design tools it simply should not take years to fix these mistakes. Come on Teleatlas, sort it out!

Hi davebrannigan, I totally agree. I bought a Mio 168 with UK AND IRELAND maps about 9 months ago and I think I used the map once. It's the Teleatlas maps you have. It doesn't even fully cover Belfast because there were LOADS of streets missing. I e-mailed the company who I bought the PDA from and also e-mailed Mio Many, Many times but I never got a reply at all. It's an absolute disgrace. Navteq maps are MILES better although they don't have full coverage yet. Digital mapping has already been completed by Navteq (do a search at www.maporama.com) but for some reason it takes soooooo long before the maps are available through PDA software.

Apparently there are new maps now available for Teleatlas and it would be very interesting to find out how coverage has improved.

They REALLY need to get their fingers out of their arses because as far as I'm concerned they're a bunch of cowboys. Evil or Very Mad

Hi dave
I too was disgusted with the lack of coverage for norn iron. It has changed dramically in the 30 odd years I`ve been away, the packaging gave the impression of coverage, but the `small print` says otherwise. Bloody rip off
