Need advice on whether jornado 680 can be used with 'mouse'GPS units or any other system.

New to this and need any help going possible use with amateur radio aprs as well..

Unless I'm very much mistaken, the Jornada 680 runs Handheld PC, not Pocket PC. Microsoft have seemingly dropped Handheld PC now (my understanding is certainly that there are no new Handheld PCs available for sale).



I think you'll struggle to find suitable software to use for GPS with your 680 - certainly none of the Pocket PC software is suitable. Indeed, I think you'll struggle to find any new software for Handheld PC now.





I think that the best way ahead if you're serious about GPS would be to switch over to Pocket PC; there's a lot of great units available at a pretty moderate price. Plug in keyboards are available if you want them. You could certainly look into the Dell Axim X5 (the 400MHz model is preferred for GPS applications, as it has more memory) and the HP iPAQ 2210 - though there are more capable machines available if you're willing to pay more.
