Royaltek & USB help needed!

Hi



I have a royaltek sapphire which connects via usb (making a virtual com port)



I cannot connect to the gps...the port is set up, 4800 8N1, etc and my progs like Route 66 can connect to the gps but do not receive anything. I tried hyperterminal and it recieves garbage on the screen (every second or so) but i think i should see data shouldnt I ?

If you're getting garbage, try a different serial port speed. The GPS may not be set to 4800 after all!



I suppose it's also possible that it's set to some kind of binary protocol - I can't find out which chipset the Sapphire uses to tell you what protocol that could be and how to reset it.





I'd try different serial port speeds first.
