I have a problem here.
When I set the advance warning for the POI's, I assign a sound and save it.
However, when I close TomTom5 down, the settings are deleted.
Anyone have any ideas? |

Check the files on your device are not marked read only. |

My initial reply appears to have been lost but I can found no way to alter the attributes of any file on my PDA.
If I go through Activesync explorer, the read only attribute is greyed out on all files. |

There are two ways to deal with this.
Copy the .cfg file from the map directory to PC change attributes (left click once then right click select properties) and take out the tick on read only then transfer back to PDA.
Check by active sync that the file is no longer read only (i.e there is no greyed out tick in read only)
If that does not work then delete the .cfg file from the map folder. This will be regenerated by Tomtom when next used. But be warned. All your settings will have been erased if you do it this way, but it will generate a new .cfg file for you. I have copied the .cfg file after I have set everything up to a new folder on my SD card so if I want to clear all previous routes etc I just copy that .cfg file back and presto it is as if I had just set up again |

Thanks guys. that's the problem solved.
It was indeed the file needing the read only unchecked.
Sorted.
Only problem I have no is the software being pernickety.
For some reason, it will launch once but not thereafter unless a reset is performed. All the other software on the PDA works fine. Just TOMTOM that displays this problem. |
