Hmm.. why do PMs sit in the outbox for hours?

I have PMs that just sit in the outbox and refuse to go!

One has been sat there for over a week. I have deleted it now as it is no longer relevant.

Tried logging out and logging back in but they are still sat there.
Any suggestions?

I beleive that the PMs stay in your outbox until the recipitent reads it.

That would explain it.
Thinking about it, thats not a bad idea. When its gone you know its been read.

Pity that fact is not mentioned in the faq's to tell people this is the case to save confusion. But thats down to the forum developers.

I was wondering the same, took me a while to figure it out...

I think there should be a mention about this, for example when you select your Outbox. Sitting in Outbox until someone reads the PM may be a good function, but it's sort of a non-standard solution (compared to for example most email software).

I've got one that's been sitting there since April. I'm giving it 3 months and it's coming out. What's the point of asking a question if you don't want to pick up the answer.
