I am considering purchasing GPSAssist, mainly as it provides a 'way-point-facility' which is sorely lacking from Tom Tom.

As I am running an i3830 (32MB program RAM), I am wary as to the level of memory required to smoothly run both TTN2 and GPSA.

I have an EMTAC GPS Jacket with a 256MB CF card for the maps and a 128MB SD card for other storage. TTN2 and very little else is loaded in main memory. With TTN2 running, I have approx 14MB of free program memory.

Any thoughts and direct experience welcomed.

Thanks.

I think you will be pushing it on a 3830. I haven't tried it myself, but Darren was experiencing problems where it was taking ages to respond.

Do you mean an ipaq?

If so im running on a 3760 with a dual pcmcia, 2 gig pcmcia HD, pretec gps CF card and gpsassist.

It runs fine.

It takes a few seconds to find out street places from the HD but i do have ALL the UK installed.

I cant report any problems.

Im quite impressed.

Hope the button issues are sorted in gpsassist soon!

It's the 32MB Models that have an issue, I gave up using it on my 3630 because it would lock up all the time, 64MB models are fine. So in John's case I doubt it will run but as you can try before you buy you've nothing to lose by giving it a go!
