My password was a sticker stuck on the front cover of the manual - it was 0000, am guessing this is default for all units?!
Not found a way via the 'on-screen' menus to change this. Hence my earlier questions of what software is around to 'fiddle' with the configs. _________________ \.!./

Is yours pre-production Mike? - On the front of my manual was a sticker (2x1cm) with "BT Authentication: 0000" on it. |

In honesty I dont know. I know it is definatly an early model as it has not got the UK firmware in it. On the other hand it did come in proper packaging, but then again they have been selling the GPSmart (non BT) for a while. _________________ Mike Barrett |

BT password was supposedly added in a recent firmware release (April 2003, I believe). The GPSPassion website has details and the firmware (UK version) for download.

Downloading of the new firmware is not a trivial task as I have been made aware. You have to open the unit and short out two pins, then upload the software. Not a job for the weak hearted. _________________ Mike Barrett |
