Haven't used my 720T for about 4 weeks, but have had on charge on PC and in car earlier most of day but it won't display for more than few seconds when powered in car; with TT Home it stays on, & I can use Operate My Go, but in car, even when powered up won't work properly.

Is this the dreaded battey grief?
Shouldn't it work anyway if it's on car power with green led on.

Is it worth doing re install, or will that be pointless.
Comments valued.

First off try the reset switch on the base of the device, secondly format the device and re-install everything - Mike

Mike, I formatted and used clear flash tool but after this I noticed there's small 15kb file called "TTN".

What's that for incidentally?
Is it needed??

Was trying to find the thread here re formatting & reloading the HDD from a Windows backup, but can't find at mo.
I don't use an SD card currently.

Copying across back up I did in Windows earlier today, with view all files switched on.

I wonder if latest TT's have better battery life; mine was bought Apr 2008, and has had an easy life; as others have noted batty replacement should be far easier, as is known consumable/TT revenue stream.

peasemore, the ttn file is used by some 3rd party applications. It has been known to cause problems on Start Up if it is configured wrongly. Suggest you remove it from your TT and store it safely somewhere on your PC and re-boot the TT without it as a test. Running TT without the ttn file may make any 3rd party apps you have unusable though.
